Advice and Tips For Booking a DJ For Your Wedding Reception Or Party

Because the time suggested for all the arrangements for a bespoke function can literally be anything from several months to even two years in planning, choosing the right entertainment should equally not be rushed or compromised. People don't generally book DJs everyday and are not familiar on the 'requirements' and obligations that DJs are increasingly required to meet, let alone what they should ask! I will outline some of the essential pointers to look for in booking DJ entertainment for your private function.

Is the DJ available for your date?

Initial contact with a DJ may be via email, indicating the date, time, and location of your event and a best price, however, every event is different, and it would be odd if a DJ could indicate prices based on such little information! Of course, emails are quick indicators of whether the DJ is unavailable and will save you a lot of time ringing around; however you could ask the DJ to recommend other DJ services and perhaps include website links and contact details. Although a phone call enquiry may be considered 'old hat', the best indicator by far is speaking to the DJ them selves, so where possible, give them a call or ask leave a message and get them to call you back. If they sound brash, uncooperative or rude, would you really want them to work for you on the night?

What sort of things should I ask or make note of during the call?

Although it might be essential to contact as many DJs as possible and compare notes to help you find the DJ which is right for you, you'll obviously need information to compare! An 'experienced' DJ may indicate how long they have been providing a DJ service, how many functions they have performed and may even talk about how much DJ equipment they have or music tracks they possess or who they are registered with - which is not really an indicator of whether they are any good as a DJ! Most importantly, a good experienced DJ will want to listen to your function requirements. They will be able to plan and smoothly guide your event from start to finish - so that you can relax and enjoy the event!

Why must a mobile DJ have Public Liability Insurance?

Many venues require a DJ / entertainer to have their own P.L.I. because they do not want their insurance claimed against in the event of a disco related accident such as a client or their guest tripping over a speaker cable or stands falling on a guest, etc. This indemnifies the venue in the event of an accident claim on the premises should it involve the disco equipment. Although venues can insist on the degree of P.L.I. required, the level of P.L.I. will vary from venue to venue. A typical hotel venue requirement may start P.L.I. from £2million, another may set a requirement of £5million+ Always check the venues requirements for entertainers P.L.I. cover before you book your entertainment.

What is a PAT Certificate?

Venues may ask for a copy of the DJs P.A.T. Certificate or 'Portable Appliance Test' certificate. The P.A.T. 'certificate' states that the electronic disco equipment used by the Mobile DJ is electrically safe and has been recorded as such with a competent P.A.T. tester. So before the DJ ventures on to the venue premises, it is important that he or she holds these requirements and can present or forward copies of as requested, otherwise, the DJ will not be allowed to set-up equipment on the premises!

The benefits of P.A.T.

In summary, the disco equipment is "less likely to fail", "less likely to electrocute anyone", "less likely to damage venue equipment on the same circuit" and perhaps just as importantly, it shows that the DJ is professional and committed to keeping their gear in tip-top condition with regular maintenance. However, in the event of an electrical fault, the paperwork will indicate if the apparent fault found was identified at time of appliance inspection by the P.A.T. inspector.

How do I know that the DJ who turns up on the night is the one I booked?

As in other sectors of industry, there will be those that accept an undertaking only to pass it on to another service, or pass on because a more lucrative booking comes along! At the 'wild' end of the scale, there are those that take a payment and don't even bother to turn up. Where possible, it is advisable to meet your DJ entertainer to discuss the requirements of the function. Informal meetings allow you to address so many things, from discussing the function requirements to enquiring what the DJ will be wearing on the night, especially if the function is a Wedding Reception because different events do 'command' different attire. Some DJs carry photo ID which is a positive step towards confirming that the DJ who turns up on the night is the one you booked. Confirm which organisations and bodies the DJ is registered with and always verify the DJs membership status in case they have brought the profession into disrepute and are actually black listed as a service! Do make sure you have done the research before you book.

How can I confirm a DJ is legit and will turn up after I've paid a deposit?

Firstly, web site rankings are no indication of the level of service or reputation of the DJs business, and it would be also fair to say that DJs are not all web designers! It seems that all too often these days, online information presented on one website may have been copied and pasted from another website, so it is best to be prudent. It's always a good idea when testimonials are available to read online to take time to read and verify that the DJ mentioned is the actual entertainer in discussion. So if you read a lot of scanned content which says "Thanks John for a great disco!", but the DJs name who you are dealing with is David, you'll have a good reason to be cautious! It can be difficult to 'prove' that the text you read online has not just been made-up. When you read many third party presented testimonial 'content', it will be obvious whether the wording is just rearranged sentences! If in doubt, seek further clarification before you book.

The booking stage

Although the internet is a great communication medium, it is best to either meet the DJ service in person or contact them via telephone. You'll be able to discuss the finer details of your function and address any issues or concerns. Once you have confirmed the DJs availability, you will need to secure the booking. There is no set rule but merely accepted practices when DJs are retained for a date. A reservation fee (booking fee) secures the services of your DJ and can be in sums of either 10%, 15% 20% or 25% of the whole fee, or up to 50% retainer of the whole fee. Some DJ services actually offer incentives to those wishing to complete bookings and payments in advance of function dates which is accepted practice in other related sectors, such as in the Wedding Service industry.

The contract

Written agreements are a way to offer protection between the parties involved and demonstrate commitment on the part of the service. If there's no written agreement, then there's nothing to bind the DJ to your event! It's accepted practice that DJs will offer a contract and request a form of reservation fee to secure their service (deposit). Your DJ entertainer should provide a written confirmation of the booking, either in letter or client contract which outlines their 'Terms and Conditions of hire'. The booking form should include payments made (deposit), balance outstanding and accepted methods of payment, the nature (type) of function, the date, the times required and contact details for the client and the venue - all agreed to by you in your return confirmation (signature) and requested reservation enclosure (deposit). Always read the Terms and Conditions of the entertainers hire contract including any additional terms, and question anything you do not understand; read all terms and conditions of hire before committing to any agreement!

Confirmation

It's a good idea to confirm your booking within the services requested time-frame to guarantee booking, so always reply by their deadline, as reputable DJ services are indeed popular! It's accepted practice for the DJ to confirm that a payment has been received by simple acknowledgement which can be either a quick phone call or email.

Music

Of course music is important at any party or Wedding Reception function, and if the DJ does not have the music library you require for the night, usually this is an indicator that the DJ is not ideal for you! So, do not hesitate to discuss essentially what is one of the most important aspects of any party; after all, it is your function! It's true, DJs are usually dedicated to their work and committed to ensuring you have a good time. But great DJs are dedicated and committed to ensuring everyone has a great time! Nobody really likes being left out of a party, and if your DJ is flexible and concentrating on seated as well as dancing guests with a broad selection of music, rest assured, the event will be memorable. Your DJ should take an interest in the music you require for the night and indicate if they can meet all your music criteria. Bearing in mind that only 'X' amount of tracks can be played an hour, if you are happy for your guests to request tracks, your DJ will slot these in with your personal choices. It's a good idea to indicate which tracks are not acceptable to be played if you allow guest requests, as the wrong track played could upset the flow of enjoyment or worse still, seriously upset someone.

How important is the DJs disco equipment?

When you hire a service, you expect just that - a service! So you'll expect not only a degree of quality, but the assurance that the disco equipment will be appropriate for the occasion, and of course, not blow up! Experienced DJs will reinvest in reliable DJ equipment because they are their tools of the trade used week in, week out, but of course, electrical equipment of any brand name can develop faults, so it's a good idea to enquire if the DJ has back-up equipment in the event of an emergency! DJ equipment brand names mean very little to the clients but there will be an obvious difference if the equipment is hi-fi home stereo grade, and not professional. There is no rule that DJ equipment has to be flight cased, but if the DJ has taken the time, trouble and investment to look after his or hers gear, then it will most certainly look good and last a long time, which is reflected in the difference between the committed services to amateur ones.

DJ Pricing

One would assume that the experienced, committed, dedicated DJ service will tend to charge more than the amateur. This is not always the case. Whilst hobbyists have a real passion for their past time and may invest a great deal into their chosen interest which gives them great pleasure, services tend to gain pleasure from both providing the service and payment, focusing on their clients, building a good business reputation and concentrating on developing their service as a career, be it part-time or full-time. Of course both 'types' will charge varying fees for their time, and it would be unfair to say that a committed hobbyist charges less than the dedicated service. What is essential to appreciate is that an event can be ruined with the wrong entertainment. Booking an amateur or 'hobbyist' who is cheap for the most lavish or one-off event could be a big disaster, especially a Wedding Reception. By saving a few pounds, you are taking a gamble and placing the success of your event at risk, so a good rule of thumb is to consider how important the success of your function is going to be and allocate a percentage of your budget towards professional DJ entertainment, as you would for other services. When you look at the time and money you've already committed to your event, the impact the Wedding DJ has on how everything turns out is quite important! Based on a budget of £5,000 for a wedding, by allocating only 10% towards your Reception entertainment is only £500.00! Wedding Service professionals, from the beautician to the function manager work to ensure your wedding day is successful, so if you consider the success of your Reception important, avoid the amateurs!

How to DJ Like a Pro - Learn to Read the Crowd and Whip Up a Dance Floor Frenzy

Tune into the crowd. They can feel it when you can. When your heart beats faster and you're excited, they can feel it too. No one knows exactly why, they just can. The key point is, it AIN'T SCIENCE! We don't understand everything in this world. We can only try to feel what we can't understand.

When you whip up the floor, the energy bounces off the crowd back to you and then you bounce it right back. Some people have the natural ability to tune in, others take longer but get it eventually. It's like you're dancing with the audience, reacting to each other's movements.

Reading their vibes and picking up their signals is the first part, knowing how to react is the second part. What's that girl who's dancing away doing? Can you follow up this tune with something even better?

Here are the top tips for reading and reacting to crowds:

1. Pay attention to their reactions

When you play out, you'll have to pay a fair amount of attention to your mix and your choice of music. However, just as importantly, remember to watch your crowd and to try to read their reactions too. By this I mean taking regular looks at your punters, feeling the atmosphere and adapting your music to it. Do you have more girls than boys? Do they look more bling, more rave or more indie? When you try out that new electro tune do they start smiling and perking up, some of them jigging a bit? If so, try more of that style.

The way people react to different styles you try on them is key to knowing what musical path to follow. This doesn't mean following every request every drunk girl makes to play Abba or Whitney Houston, but it does mean that you're playing for the crowd and you should play what they want, not what you want. You're not DJing for yourself.

2. Know your musical styles

Pretty obvious you may say. Not really in fact, you'd be surprised. The best DJs have a wealth of different styles and a back up for anything that may not go as planned. That is to say, do not turn up with just a single musical style in your repertoire. Don't play house and have nothing else to play when you've been asked to play in a place where house clearly doesn't go down well. Experiment with other styles and when you get a positive reaction, it means you're on the path to a better night.

If you're playing in an indie place, don't play techno. You'll get ideas from the look of the people about their musical tastes. Get into the habit of guessing what music people enjoy and trying it out on them. Of course, this all comes down to knowing your music well enough, which you can read our tips on right here.

3. Check out the venue beforehand

When it's possible, check out a venue you've been asked to play in. Visualize yourself behind the decks. See what kind of people hang out there and spend time having a drink, maybe talking to people. Make friends with and chat to the bar staff and bar owners. Bar staff occasionally display a surprisingly good knowledge of music due to the numerous DJs they get to see and hear and the reactions they observe to them. They can also tell you what kind of crowd will be in the night you are programmed to play on.

Get the feeling and vibe of the crowd, see what music they dance to. For DJs who are travelling to another city to play where they've never played before, this obviously doesn't apply. In this case, it's better to talk to the promoter or club owner on what kind of style should go down well.

4. Girls or boys?

Check the girls and the boys carefully when DJing, especially the girls. Why? Because when the girls dance the boys follow. You know how it is. The main hot tip here is get the girls to dance. They lead the dancing, the boys do too, that means (nearly) everyone is dancing. For some reason, it's nicer when girls dance, it gives off a more positive vibe.

So when you get to that point in the night when you have to get people moving (if you're playing in a club or party) then think of the ladies. They tend to favour lighter music with more emotion and with vocals as opposed to harder tunes.

5. Be ready to play outside your circle

If you followed our precious advice on knowing your music for DJing, then you'll be up on this. That means you have everything in your collection, even cheese. "But I don't play cheese" you protest. You don't have to play cheese. You do have to be ready to go outside your realm and play music that you may not like.

I once turned up at a club in Paris and the owner was pretty sure about what he wanted. He explained right away that he wanted well known, accessible tunes. He didn't care for the latest cool Simian Mobile Disco remix and such, he wanted favourites.

Now I didn't do exactly what he wanted, I gave the night my own twist. That meant that I played some cheese, but I used that cheese to get people on my wavelength. At that point, we established a rapport because they knew that the DJ understood what they liked, so they opened out.

Dropping the odd cheese bomb was fine by me, after all, everyone danced in there. Once they got going, they were more receptive to other, different tunes which I could happily drop, confident that they'd continue dancing. Guess what? I got asked back there several times and the owner really insisted I play again. Unfortunately I couldn't make it though as I had other gigs lined up.

The message is: dare to play music you don't particularly like when you're DJing as well. The important thing is that people are happy and dance.

Having the will power to be able do this will get you a better reputation and improved gigs. Who cares if on occasions you drop a cheese bomb, it won't be like that all the time. Remember, it's about what they like, not just about what you like.

6. React to them

When you've been struggling for a bit and people aren't really dancing to what you put on only then they suddenly go unexpectedly crazy to your next tune, make sure you react to them accordingly. When the dancefloor bursts into life, that's a sure sign the last tune you played is right up their street. That means the next tune you play should be a reaction to that; you have to try to keep them on the floor now for as long as you can. Not always easy, but you can do it.

Follow up that last rooflifter with another tune which is in some way similar to the previous one. Not identical, but similar in some aspect, whether it's the style, the energy, the BPM or the key. Give your set some shape and flow and take your people on a musical journey of enjoyment. One last important thing: Have some FUN!

Choosing a good wedding DJ, the mood of your party boost

We always want to have a good time. Even if only for a short period, we have a day off from our work and have a good time with our friends and loved ones. Sometimes this leads to plan a party. Whatever the occasion, celebration or just meeting with friends and family, remove each piece of that special. And 'even more special when they marry.

But when a full payment at the time, you can, it's time for you to choose its own security, another DJ, for your own.

Now you have chosen a DJ, you can kind of music you want them to play. This is important because the music carries the mood of the party. You should first talk to the DJ, because sometimes the music reviews may suggest different ways, because they want to change the mood. A DJ has hispersonal music tastes and can sometimes leave out the songs or types of music that he likes. So you need to discuss all kinds of music needs to suspect that your visitors can.

The Most Important Rule For the Wedding DJ Playlist

When the couple try to bust DJ wedding playlist that you are not usually as the number one rule in building this list of songs. The first rule of the playlist is ... Say they do not have the playlist! Seriously, many couples have this attitude and fear that telling their songs that they like to play DJ and them. Some DJ's have a show number for each case to play, but sometimes does not work, because a lot isdifferent! You do not want the DJ to play music and rap metal, when the audience is usually your parents age. Do not make this mistake. You can play any song of any kind you like, provided that the DJ is the first rule of the playlist.

Are you ready? Here's how: The most important rule for the playlist: play only three songs in the same category in a row. This is it! This is rule number 1 when you create your own playlist of music, especially for dancing.

I knowIt seems too easy, but what is success or failure of a dance floor! If the DJ plays songs more than three in a row from a certain style, guests and aversion are starting to ask this style that the rest of the night music is all about. You see, three songs come from 10 to 12 minutes of music, a good length of time is set for a dance. Then the music changes and those who danced to fetch a drink and relax, while those who love the new style of CrashPlan. Then again, sometimes people never leave the dance floor at all and you can not complain about it!

Now I'm not saying to go Stayin 'Alive to Metallica! If the DJ has all the skills he can to smooth the transitions. For example, the beginning, the Motown DJ with a few, then we arrive at the nightclub, then mix in some top 40 dance. It is about 30 to 40 minutes mostly dance music. You can go to some rock and roll or oldies from there, or becauseis a marriage, a drop slow ballad for all the birds of love. Me and some of the songs is great and transitions on the playlist wedding DJ's playlist, if you're interested.

As always, there is one exception to this rule. You can play with multiple (five or six) songs of the same gender, if the DJ mix every song in a hurry. We are talking about two minutes or so into the song. As you can see, it's all the time your guests will be subject tocertain type of music that is about 10 to 12 minutes. If you go this time, problems may occur and you are likely to have guests out the door too soon. Try it if you do not believe me. DJ to play the best Top 40 dance songs for an hour and a half to watch your guests walk out the door!

Hopefully you will heed my advice and follow this simple, but, alas, is so important guideline for your dance music. This is the most important tip I can give ... It 'sfirst rule in setting up a DJ wedding playlist for you and your guests!

With the economy in a slum, it is quite difficult to pay for the bride and groom at the wedding. In many cases it is possible that this bag brides and grooms, to add the cost for DJs. There are many companies are legitimate wedding DJ, but how can you be sure to find a reliable and professional wedding DJ when you make purchases? It is often said that the DJ can make or break your wedding party. This is to some extent. It will not be the music selection of all your guests to go home soon, but more so is the location. Your guests will go home whenare boring. There are many ways for your wedding DJ to entertain your guests, but it is important to know the location and timing of receipt of the events is the most important factor for a successful marriage.

Think about it: If you are in the reception hall, and now you have your first dance (as you and your guests with drinks and snacks) and then follow with a toast to the bride and groom and cut right in the food and cake, is basically telling the itsGuests must be good to go home half an hour to go into your reception, because they have seen is all important. This is actually a course coordinators wedding DJ many out there, but also several weddings. Unfortunately, you can see this as a difference of expensive dinner, or have been a wedding reception where your guests stayed all the time and had a great time, they were. Many farmers use these older route, basing itsSequence of events held to entertain your guests, but for all the events in a convenient way to coordinate their efforts.

As the bride and groom, as if they want to escalate into all your hard work and planning do not feel it! You want to be sure to have fun, because after all it's your special day. To do this, you should have made all the decisions before the wedding, so exactly what will happen and when, and need to knowthis is to sit back and relax and untangle it.

The Wedding DJ at your wedding should be good to be able to play music all the guests who have chosen, and needs, but also in the light of events in coordination with other producers. The key points of the wedding planning months of the course could be so sure, DJ has an edge on it with your own.

How can a wedding DJ to reach all theseThings?

First, there is some 'knowledge of music comes into play. Since iTunes and iPod, and each with an extensive music library at your fingertips, people know that's not really a difficult task, more than one. DJ Software has really revolutionized things and some people even wonder why even a DJ. But when you look a bit ', there are some very important things that need to know the DJ andDancefloor-longevity. And 'course the knowledge of musical genres that help you categorize things, but BPM or beats per minute, a figure that is set the pace. Time must be a gradual increase or decrease in line to keep the energy and fun on the dance floor. can jump around too much, in fact, that people do not dance.

Knowledge of theory and basic profile and categorize your music is important, with songs such as tools and / orBlocks. For example, with a song like "The Electric Slide" for the guests to their seats after eating a slice of wedding cake again on Sat

The DJ is an MC, or master of ceremonies take this knowledge even more. For example, all pairs of invitations to the dance floor after the first dance with the bride and groom a very important role in your guests entertained and involved after the seat of receipt. At this point theYour guests in the evening through the ceremony, cocktails (some seated), dinner and toasts SA is very important that they get up from your feet and involved at this point of reception, for which they are held. After a couple of slow dances, the increase in energy a bit ', and the catering staff and photographers ready to cut the cake. Cutting the cake takes things up a notch and took the people sitting right now but people left the dance floor because we had another event readythem, not because they dance bored. The fluid is a very nice to give the event overall.

This format should be continued during the rest of the reception. This requires experience with the route of today's wedding and some clever ideas on the demographics of your guests. Usually the understanding and use of all these components is made only by a professional animator and DJ.

Finally there are the DJ to think for themselves. DJ's have 'known as tacky or inappropriate and rather strange in a ponytail or extravagant clothes were identified. Your wedding DJ should be as noble as your guests. The way in which it carries its own is often a reflection of how to conduct its business.

What to see

As a DJ or entertainer needs more than anything else, trust. The Trust has many fine lines, and the easiest way to fish from a trusted not-so-over-professional or falseTrust.

A simple way this place would be if the person I am always compares himself to "the other guys," and placed it, etc. These meetings are some shows insecurity evident in his ability. Over confidence can also mask an inability to prove that someone or a real lack of confidence. Most DJ's are self employed or working for a small shop close. This will create a lot of competition, please let us know.

While music is aimportant aspect of the meeting, the DJ must also show a priority in the path. This is almost more important than music because the people on the dance floor can get the songs to dance. Also be aware that some companies have been known to meet the owner of the company and then the day of the show to someone with less experience, knowledge, etc., are shown at the wedding DJ. Horror stories of these people are very inexperiencedoccur with piercings and tattoos visible during the day. It is essential that you have a relationship with the person who is actually going to build your marriage from the beginning to avoid any misunderstanding. It might be a good idea to ensure that the premises has DJ experience with weddings, especially those who have booked your reception.

Usually you get what you pay for a service. If you submit a budget and then meet with a DJDJ and compare prices, it is more than likely to immediately see the difference in experience, knowledge and professionalism.

What to avoid

for the DJ to be aware that when purchasing low-cost DJ more often tack on additional charges with additional options for the time your done with, you end up paying the same thing. Many packet-based companies tend to negotiate better if everything must be done and said.

avoided in any case, the setting of a DJis only going to play at your reception. There are many things to do and coordinated also be short of music playback or your wedding party, I'm a train wreck. many standard format used to be so sure there are ways that this DJ is comfortable with.

There are stories on the forum's wedding announcement on 'DJ of the garter / bouquet throw, if the photographer is in the bathroom or replacing the cassette of the film. Such a thing cangreatly affect the success of your reception and should not be taken lightly. While a budget is always a problem of a few hundred dollars more now seem very important in hindsight. Target for someone who can use fixed before the wedding day, so you have to go to work on their own.

Stay away from the party DJ, who as a wedding DJ. E 'common practice. Many party-DJ's that are great to make people dance in a club downtown to hear thatwedding industry has a much higher pay scale (think: responsibility, skills, ability to speak in public, etc..) You start as a DJ tour of the wedding market, but the knowledge or receipt is not required to register. The easiest way, this place is like a club web page or a general lack of knowledge of a wedding logistics. A club DJ Wedding Package is $ 500.00 a good price! For the consumer, is a bargain! It 's too good to be true? YesNote that with every service that you almost always get what you pay. Good luck to find a professional and affordable wedding DJ!

Wedding DJ and MC entertainers marriage Vs

I recently visited a wedding party and was quite upset when the DJ announced that it will rise to speak on the table and shouting with his arms outstretched, "The bride and groom thought they were just the beginning, a DJ, but little do they know that almost always a very special person, always meeeee! "It reminded me of another wedding event not long ago, when most people consider the DJ the person was offended by the termwanted, as an entertainer will be called marriage, and it made me think of the differences between the two.

The entertainer marriage seems to believe that they are better than a wedding DJ and earn more for their services because they offer the extras. "A DJ plays music and just do ads," he said, "I know a lot more." He then went on to pass the party hats and plastic glow sticks, shouting into the microphone (inaudible) andStop dancing every 10 minutes or so for an 'activity' of some nature ridiculous. The wedding guests bitter just wanted to dance and have a good time, and I thought that the poor husband looked as if he wanted to crawl into a hole and hide. Later he told me that he was really embarrassed and wanted a wedding, not a teen party. The Entertainer marriage was completely in touch with the group when he and his agenda, including competitions and dance classes, "saidwhich means that even if everyone knew how to dance the electric slide with it, he felt compelled to stop the music and show guests how to do it. This is when the couple asked him to become angry and beat just play the song. You're lucky, do not stop the other guy, who went even further in calling attention to costume changes and sketches with him.

The couple rented an event must have a professional DJ, the wedding was the position of Director, without a vision of himself, and has the knowledge, skills and vision for an event with a level of class and refinement of behavior, while maintaining a fun and enjoyable. There are many terms cut with a modern wedding party, as the cake, throwing bouquet, combined formal dances and the like. The insistence that people are bored when they have not often addressed, is a stupid idea. Many people like to relax and enjoy, and visit withFriends and relatives who may not have seen for a while '. You can not dance every second, and they can not do in a contest hairy legs involved.

A marriage of quality DJ / MC also know that as your listing is not a sufficient on its own. The correct application of a program prepared in advance: a song cues, setting the microphone down and go behind the DJ table to prepare the people involved. Perhaps thePhotographer is not ready, or the bride's father is not aware that his dance with his daughter comes later. He must be informed and ready to go when the announcement is made. This applies to the whole evening, and the apparent coordination with the event staff and vendors required. This type of dj go even further in his service for the couple prepare the agenda with the provision of equipment such as wireless microphones, lights and danceCeremony Sound System at no additional cost. He is ready, a ceremony or musicians to help readers with their needs, and generally a source of support for the couple on their big day, not an additional headache.

This does not mean that an artist not a wedding in his place. If you are looking for a reception crazy and chaotic with Elvis in a jumpsuit that your cup of tea can watch. Be prepared to spend too much and to accommodate their egos and the desirePay attention to your event.

If, however, spend a fair amount of money needed for a wedding in your professionalism and those who hear and believe that shooting a wedding, the bride and the bridegroom is everything, maybe you should hire a wedding DJ / MC, which is the term convenient honored his work and it feels like to be a part of your wedding, knowing that your special day and not his.

Wedding DJ Tips and Advice

Of course, every wedding is different location, duration and requirements. The following services have been compiled the experiences of my wedding DJ, so if you are thinking of undertaking Wedding DJ entertainment, here are some tips to be observed.

Pre-Event Planning
Although it is never a guarantee that everything goes according to plan and time of day, pre-event planning is essential if they provide their services asintend - to be successful and memorable.

Pre-visit the venue

Where practical, make arrangements with the function manager and visit where the reception is going to be held (where you will be performing).

You'll need to know everything from who to report to, the permitted parking area, specific loading areas and access times, even bar closing times on the night! The function manager will likely indicate all out-of-bound areas including exterior areas, but don't be afraid to ask if they don't mention, especially areas such as verges and paths which may be unsuitable for vehicles or loaded trolley's.

It's also worth enquiring if there is an area where your disco equipment can be stored while you wait for the room to be vacated and prepared for the reception, and may help reduce setting up time if close-by to where you are operating.

You'll need to know where the electrical power sockets are located and if they are connected to any limiters. Also, it is worth discussing how the room lighting will be on night.

Make a note of the ceiling height and how low the fittings are, especially if the Bride intends to throw her wedding bouquet!

You'll probably want to freshen up before performing so if an area has not been mentioned or designated, don't hesitate to enquire where you can get changed after setting up your disco equipment on the day.

Pre-visit your client!

Having a meeting with your clients is essential. It not only allows you to build a good rapport, but also reassures your clients that you confidently know what you are doing.

Discuss at length the program timings of the day including the meal, speeches and buffet, as well as disco entertainment start and end timings, and whether features of the program include 'cutting of the cake' and traditional 'throwing of the bouquet'!

You'll need to know whether the Bride and Groom intend to retire from the celebrations early or stay to the end. Also, how do Spouses want to bring closure to the reception, and what is the choice of music.

For a personal approach to the reception, it's a good idea to know the names of important guests.

Of course, the essence of music, from the choice of background music, the wedding party when you start on some routes that have chosen is welcome! You can confirm the bride and groom first dance track (version), which isrequire parent dances and particular music, along with any specific requests for music to be played throughout.

You may wish to suggest that the Bride and Groom might like to choose music dedications for the wedding party to 'take to the dance floor' which helps encourage people to the dance floor later on!

Another thing to discuss is whether the Bride and Groom are happy for their guests to ask you for requests on the night. At some wedding functions, there may be guests celebrating anniversaries or birthdays. It's worth noting if there are any sensitive songs that would be inappropriate to be played during the reception.

Because the timings on the day can run over, I'll inform that I'll discuss on night to gauge the best time for their first dance, making notes of any changes to the program as required. If there are planned dances for wedding guests then I'll also need to discuss with them the order of dances - a few minutes is all that is usually required to be set aside for this.

I usually contact the clients again the week before the function just to reassure and address any changes to the program and music plan as required.

Prepare for the big day

One of the best tips I was ever given was don't leave everything to the last minute. Make sure you have everything ready before the day, and not on the day.

Ensure that any paperwork that the venue requires is forwarded well in advance of the function date and confirm this with the department head, if you already participate.

There is no excuse to be turned away from a scene in extremis, because the certificate of public liability insurance has been left at home! The reputation of your service is definitely more than a nose dive, so a little preparation goes a long, long way.

Getting to the big day!
I usually enough time to the venue for possible traffic problems! Upon arrival, my first task is to inform the functionmanager that I'm on site. He or she will then indicate what stage they are at in the proceedings and if the program is running to time. Usually, it is running a little later than planned!

Unless I'm setting up the disco in a room away from where the wedding party is eating, hopefully, there will be a designated area nearby for me to proceed unloading to and temporarily store the disco gear.

Out of etiquette, I like to inform the Bride and Groom that their Wedding DJ is on site. Naturally, there are stages during the proceedings which will determine when I can personally inform the Bride and Groom that I've arrived.

If everyone is still eating, I'll consider informing them discretely between courses.

Once the meal and speeches are over and the room is vacated, I can commence moving the disco gear. With everything in place and operational including room lighting adjustments, I'll discretely make my checks keeping sound levels to an absolute minimum. Once satisfied, I'll go and freshen up and get changed and then inform the function manager that I'm ready.

The Reception

Although early on, I'll gauge the level of background music to the number of guests entering the room so it's not too loud and not to quiet. If you intend to offer a more personalised approach then its an idea not to 'hide' behind the gear but take the opportunity to greet the guests as they enter the room.

Once the wedding party have entered the function room, I'll ask the Bride and Groom to inform when they will be ready for their first dance, and which group of people I need to speak to (to discuss the subsequent dance order) if applicable.

Once everyone in the party knows when they will be dancing (and with whom), as soon as the Bride and Groom are ready, I'll lower the background music, make my introductions, welcome the Bride and Groom to the dance floor and introduce their first dance.

Any planned wedding party dances will follow the first dance which will then allow you to settle into building a party atmosphere.

HOWEVER! Of course there's no hard rule on which music you should play early on, but it might be a bit disheartening should you choose to play all top tracks before the buffet! Sure, it's a balancing act but the general consensus with functions is that the disco usually gets really going AFTER the buffet is served.

Closure

Whether closing the night with specially chosen tracks from the Bride and Groom, or encouraging the wedding guests to get-up and form a traditional circle or arch, you'll need to allow yourself enough time so that the finish is ON TIME! So when working towards the finishing time, double check with the function manager on the bar closure as this is crucial if it has been agreed with the Bride and Groom for a grand finale, and a clash of times could be a disaster!

Ensure that the Bride and Groom has a rousing send off and you've successfully completed your wedding reception entertainment.

Wedding DJ Playlist - see how easily you can design a great playlist

The wedding day is just around the corner and the music recording is not yet determined. The person responsible for overseeing the music is to request any special songs - or even lists of songs - to help make it a special evening. Learn how to ensure a perfect wedding playlist DJ's not that hard, usually.

Note that a marriage usually has a theme, and that the issue will generally require at least one song that has something to do with this topic. Other songshave chosen to support different times during the reception. Here are some tips to get a good playlist:

Tailor at least one if not more, songs on the theme of marriage. If you have decided to have occupied a Star Wars theme, then maybe a couple of songs from the soundtracks of several films are in high demand. If marriage is what is known as the "traditional" and songs that you try to sit in the background, but there are still memorable.
It should be at least one piece of the list they loved, or "special song" of the couple. This work will be dancing in general during the all-important bride, if you and your spouse engage in the dance played together the first official release. The highly recommended "current" The songs are:
Eric Clapton's "You Look Wonderful Tonight"
Aerosmith "Do not Want To Miss A Thing"
Make sure that the music played during dinner, at each meeting to enjoy their meals andToast and give recognition to the spouses, is full of comforting in a general and not with rhetoric and explosions. In other words, could not this time speakers, some Nine Inch Nails blaring from the DJ '. Think about songs like this:
Lauren Wood "Fallen" (from the soundtrack of Pretty Woman)
Tim McGraw's "Unbroken"
Frank Sinatra's "All the Way
The songs on constantly between some of the most popular wedding songs of the foodCountry. There are many others. Working with the DJ, or that both understands your expectations for this part of the reception.
Work on the lists that are for different times in the evening to build. It's usually a good idea to slow dance songs and spend time with the fastest dance music and joyful, which constitute the bulk of the list.
Working with lists Schneider DJ, the playlist of the general conditions of the customer. When guests gatheredare in their 20s and not all fans of the 1940 BIG MUSIC age band, probably not a good idea to do songs from this period, most of the conversation.
some songs should be in every marriage, and people expect to be played. In the meantime, do not expect the "Chicken Dance Polka" - a "Oom-pah" is the kind of song to make an appearance?

Music at a wedding can make or break a reception, so think what you want to stream music and then make sureDJ knows when to play some of them at the right time. In this way we can guarantee a great night of fun and memory not only for you and your new spouse, but also for the many guests and visitors are shown.

It is necessary that all are aware of the report, a bar parking permitted, areas of special loading and access times and closing times of the night! The function manager is unlikely that the out-of-bound areas, including outdoor areas, but do not be afraid to ask,if they do not mention, in particular areas such as dams and roads, which may not suitable for vehicles or vehicle load.

It is worth asking whether there is a field where your disco equipment store as you leave the room and prepared to wait for the reception, and can help to close the center, if the time-by where you work, it can be.

Need to know where the electrical outlets, and if they are connected to any limit. Moreover, it is worthTo discuss how the lighting is night.

For a personal approach to the reception, it's a good idea to know the names of important guests.

Of course, the essence of music, from the choice of background music, the wedding party when you start on some routes that have chosen is welcome! You can confirm the bride and groom first dance track (version), which isdances and music in particular, parents need to play with all the specific requirements for music from all over.

Maybe you want to suggest that couples may choose an interest in musical dedications to the wedding, which encourage people to help the dance floor later "take to the dance floor!"

Another thing is to discuss if the bride and groom happy for guests to request you to investigate into the night. In some wedding functions, you can markcelebrate birthdays or anniversaries. It is worth mentioning if there are sensitive songs that are not appropriate during the reception would be played.

Since the times of the day can go, I will tell you that I discuss at night, the best time to measure their first dance, taking note of any changes to the program, if necessary. When she dances for wedding guests are scheduled, I also need to discuss with them the order of the dances - a few minutes is all that is usuallymust be provided for this purpose.

I usually calm back to the customer in the week before and only serve to address the changes in the program and Piano Music.

Get ready for the big day
One of the best advice I was ever given was to leave everything to the last minute. Make sure that everything is ready before the day, and not on the agenda.

Ensure that all documents which the office is, in advance of the function passed to confirm the date andthis with the department head, if you already participate.

Upon arrival, my first task is to inform the functionThe manager of the site. He or she will show to what extent they are in the process and if the program is running at the time. Usually it is a little 'later than expected!

If I am setting up a nightclub in an environment far from where the wedding party is to eat, hopefully there will be some area nearby for me to continue unloading and temporary storage gear disco.

Off label, I want to inform the bride and groom, their wedding DJSite. Of course there are times during the proceedings, to determine when I can personally tell the bride and groom that will come.

If everyone is eating more would consider, I informed them quietly between classes.

After lunch and speeches are over and the room is cleared, I can begin to move the gear disco. With everything in place and operational, even adjust the lighting, I want to keep my fairly sound checks to an absolute minimum.Once satisfied, I'm going to freshen up and change, and inform the department head, I'm ready.

The reception
Although early, I measure the level of background music, the number of guests in the room, so it is not too strong and not too quiet. If you provide a more personalized approach, and not his idea to "hide" behind the change, but to take this opportunity to greet the guests entering the room.

After the wedding party members have the functionRoom, ask the bride and groom informed if they are ready for their first dance, the group of people I need to talk (to discuss the dance later), if necessary.

After all white party, when you dance (and with whom), when the bride and groom are willing, I will lower the background music, my ideas, the bride and groom to the dance floor and welcome the introduction of their first dance.

Any forthcoming wedding dancesfollow the first dance, therefore, to establish themselves in the construction of a festive atmosphere.

MA! Of course there is no fixed rule about the music that you should play soon, but might be a bit 'daunting, you should play on all the best titles to choose from the buffet! Sure, it's a balancing act, but the general consensus is that the club functions really get into the system after breakfast is served.

Close
If the closure of the night with the selected items fromThe bride and groom or the promotion of invited to set up and form a circle or a traditional bow you have to allow time so that the surface in time! So, if the implementation of recent times, is double-checking with the function manager at the bar closed, as this is crucial when you have with the bride and groom agreed to its grand finale, and a battle of the times could be a disaster!

Make sure that the bride and groom send an overwhelming and you have successfully completedYour wedding reception entertainment.
